Some Configurator Love

Thursday, November 20th, 2008

Dave Cross puts Configurator through its paces as does Webmonkey from Wired Magazine.

To me Configurator is the start of an amazing transformation in the way we use and interact with applications. I have been using Photoshop since 1.0.7 and have seen it transformed from a simple pixel pushing and paint application into something humungous. There are many parts I use, but there are also parts I will probably never use. Configurator is an easy way to cut down on the cruft and focus on what you really need!

And who knows it might lead to all Adobe Applications being more configurable including Lightroom!

Adobe Configurator for Photoshop CS4

Thursday, October 9th, 2008

Yes this is a Lightroom Blog, but when something interesting happens with the ‘daddy’, Photoshop, it will be worth a mention.

Adobe Configurator will be out soon on Adobe Labs and it is a really interesting customization utility for Photoshop CS4. It allows you to create your own custom panels for CS4, which can contain the most frequently used tools, scripts, actions etc. It uses the Adobe AIR platform and John Nack has a blog post about it, with links to videos and screenshots.

When you get CS4, if you do, then run and fetch Configurator, it will really open your eyes!!
